- Step 1: Turn Off The Device
The procedure to turn off the device might differ for each model, so please follow any of these procedures based on your device model.
I will be referred to the iPhone 6s, so press and hold the power button, and once the power off slider appears on the screen, drag the slider to turn off the device.
- Step 2: Open iTunes In The Computer
Now open iTunes software on your PC or computer. If you have not installed it yet, you can download it from Apple’s official site and install it.
- Step 3: Get Into Recovery Mode

- Step 4: Restore Device

You will see a pop-up in iTunes, click on restore, tap on restore, and update.
Please remember this will download all required latest files from the Apple server. If this download takes more than 15 minutes, your Apple device will exit the recovery mode. If that happens to you, please repeat Step 3 to bring the phone back to recovery mode.
If the activation lock is enabled for your device, you will need to supply Apple ID and password, and this is the same credential that you used to login to icloud.com.
Once restore is completed, you can set up your Apple device as it has been bought new.
Most importantly, you will be allowed to choose the new passcode of your choice.
- Step 5: Restore a backup
If you want to restore your data, you could do it by simply selecting the appropriate option.
